History
Campus Crusade for Christ is a movement founded by Bill and Vonette Bright in 1951. Before they received the vision to start this ministry, they signed a contract to become slaves to Jesus. Crusade was birthed after a 24 hour prayer chain, which lasts until today. The first ministry outreach occurred in UCLA. Within a year, 250 students became involved. By 1960, it had more than 100 staff, operated on 40 campuses in 15 states in the USA and was active in 3 countries. Today, it is active in over 190 countries, with 26,000 staff.
